What is MailChimp Integration?
MailChimp integration allows results from your form to create Subscribers in a MailChimp Audience.
This integration sends email addresses, so your form needs at least one Email Address item.
Create a New Integration
First, get your MailChimp API key by following their instructions. Note your API key for the next step.
On your form's "Integrations" page, click the integration for "MailChimp". Then, enter your MailChimp API key and click "Continue" to connect with your MailChimp account. After you're connected, choose which Audience to integrate with and choose which items on your form should map to which fields in the Audience. When you're finished, click the "Save" button.
Collecting MailChimp Results
When a form user completes your form, their result will create a new Subscriber which will be sent to your MailChimp Audience. If there's already an existing Subscriber with the same email address as the new Subscriber, MailChimp will update the existing Subscriber.
If you're using a "double opt-in" Audience, MailChimp will first send the new Subscriber a confirmation email. MailChimp will wait to add the Subscriber until they've used the opt-in link in the email.
For Interest Group fields, for MailChimp to consider the choice a match, the Interest Group choices must exactly match the choices of the form item you've mapped to it. When there's a match, MailChimp will add the Subscriber to that Interest Group.
Note: The integration can only send new Subscribers to MailChimp, it can't retrieve or delete existing Subscribers. Changes you make in MailChimp won't affect your results in Formsite.
Tips and Troubleshooting
If, for some reason, a result wasn't sent to MailChimp, or your form wasn't integrated yet when the result was collected, you can resubmit it to MailChimp on your form's "Results" page, by editing and saving the result.
You can bulk import existing results into MailChimp by exporting them from Formsite in CSV format and then importing the CSV file into MailChimp.
