What is Two-factor Authentication (2FA)?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by linking it to a mobile device. The mobile device will generate a time-sensitive passcode that must be entered while logging in.
Popular authenticator apps include: Google Authenticator (for Android or iOS) and Authy (for Android).
Enabling Two-factor Authentication
On your account's "Profile" page, enable the "Two-factor authentication" setting. Then, scan the QR code with your authenticator app. Follow any setup instructions in your app and then enter the code it provides. When you're finished, click the "Save" button.
Important: Two-factor codes are valid for only a short time, usually about a minute, before rotating to a new code. This requires you to keep your mobile device with you at all times—if you don't have your mobile device to get the code, you won't be able to log in.
Logging in with Two-factor Authentication
Start by logging in normally with your username and password. As you log in, an extra step to enter the two-factor code will appear.
