What is Two-factor Authentication?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by linking it to a mobile device. The mobile device will generate a time-sensitive passcode that must be entered while logging in.
Popular authenticator apps include: Google Authenticator (for Android or iOS) and Authy (for Android).
Enabling Two-factor Authentication
On your account's "Profile" page, enable the "Two-factor authentication" setting. Then, scan the QR code with your authenticator app. Follow any setup instructions in your app and then enter the two-factor code it provides. When you're finished, click the "Save" button.
Important: Two-factor codes are valid for only a short time, usually about a minute. This requires you to keep your mobile device with you at all times to be able to log in.
Logging in with Two-factor Authentication
Start by logging in normally with your username and password. As you log in, an extra step to enter the two-factor code will appear.
